I need help
If something is weighing on you, you don't have to carry it alone or work it out on an anonymous board. These are real people and services you can reach, many of them free, confidential and open late.
In immediate danger?
Call 999 or 112 (free, 24/7), or go to your nearest Emergency Department. Emergency Departments also help with mental health emergencies. If you can, stay with someone or tell someone near you.
Student-run · UCD
UCD Niteline
A free, confidential and anonymous listening, support and information service run by students, for students. Niteline is open every night of term from 9pm to 2:30am. No problem is too big or too small, and the volunteers won't tell you what to do. They'll just listen.
Phone and instant messaging run during term time only. Outside those hours, use one of the 24/7 options below.
Talk to someone right now (24/7)

Other ways to get help
- Your GP or the UCD Student Health Service. Out of hours, East Doc is on 01 221 4021.
- A friend, housemate or family member. You don't need the perfect words. “I'm not doing great” is enough to start.
- Worried about someone else? Ask them directly how they are, listen without judging, and encourage them to contact one of the services above. You can call them too for advice.
- See something concerning on UCDngl? Use the Report button on any post or reply. Posts that mention self-harm are held back for human review, but UCDngl is not a crisis service and isn't monitored around the clock.
